Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1926, Andrew grew up with a love of aviation instilled by his father who served in the Royal Flying Corps/Royal Air Force. In WWII, Andy served with the U.S. Navy as a flight engineer/gunner, starting out in SBDs, then PBYs, PBMs and PV-2s. He spent a total of ten years in active duty and reserve service. Andy attended the University of Oklahoma, majoring in mechanical engineering. He combined engineering and art in doing configuration work for all Sikorsky products. He has produced hundreds of paintings for the Sikorsky Marketing and Engineering Departments during the last thirty-eight years. He is presently a member of the Society of Illustrators in New York City, the U.S. Air Force Art Program, and is an Artist Fellow and past president of ASAA.
